K-Letter-Wizard makes writing letters easy. Just enter address and subject and with some help from latex, you get a very good looking letter. It was inspired by tk_brief from Deres Mueller

Bugs
- Second Page alway says “Seite 2″ (Page2 in german) no matter which Language you run klw in. I need a latex-Specialist to solve this.
- The Icon is very ugly
- Only translated to dk,nl,de
- No KDE4 port yet. Any volunteers ?
Tips&Tricks
- You can use Drag n’ Drop to drop Addresses from Kaddressbook/Kontact to the Recipient-Field
- If you want to write a Letter in another Language than you run your computer in, start kletterwizard like this:
KDE_LANG="de" kletterwizard

It is not possible due to the restrictions of the underlying latex. At least I don’t know how to do this.

Great tool. Is there any possibility to also have German Umlaute in the text/address/etc.? I’ve tried various ways ‘ö’, ‘”o’, ‘\{“o}’ – none of which really worked out. Maybe adding an \usepackage{ngerman} to the TeX template helps here?

Gemäß DIN 5008 gibt es keine Leerzeile zwischen der Straße+Hausnummer und PLZ+Stadt mehr. Kann dies bitte in der nächsten Version entfernt werden? Danke!

Hi! This app is very cool. But I have a problem with the umlauts. Everytime I save a letter, quit KLW and open it later they have chnged to some strange signs. The umlauts are already messed up in this .letter files. I have tried quite a few combinations of ‘KDE_LANG=”..” kletterwizard’. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Ein ganz tolles Programm, das leider viel zu unbekannt ist. Ich finde es wirklich schade, daß man wohl nur per Zufall darüber stolpert. Vieleicht wäre es weiter verbreitet, gäbe es Pakete für die wichtigsten Distributionen.

Ich kann nach einem Update auf Ubuntu 8.10 kletterwizard nicht mehr kompilieren. ./configure endet mit der Fehlermeldung:
checking for KDE… configure: error:
in the prefix, you’ve chosen, are no KDE libraries installed. This will fail.
So, check this please and use another prefix!
Ich habe schon einige KDE4-lib-Pfade als Prefixes eingeben, jedoch wohl nie den richtigen. Es wäre schade, wenn ich dieses tolle Tool nicht mehr nutzen könnte.
